Alternator

To replace the generator begin by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable before you take off the Drive Belt along with the fuel injector sight shield and engine mount strut bracket and the a/c line clamp bolt which attaches to the upper radiator support. Start by removing coolant recovery reservoir bolts and reservoir tabs from upper radiator support before repositioning them out of the way. Begin by moving the battery positive junction block cable boot to a different position then uninstall the generator cable to battery positive junction block terminal and its attachment nut at the generator stud. You must first disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the generator and pull the power steering reservoir inlet hose clip out of its bracket holding the power steering fluid reservoir hose clip before loosing the idler pulley bolt to move the pulley as far away from the engine as possible. To remove the generator uses three parts of operation: removing bolts from the generator then separating the generator from the a/c compressor and power steering reservoir clip bracket followed by generator and power steering pulley removal from the vehicle. Start by securing the idler pulley to the generator then install this unit along with its pulley directly into your vehicle. Secure the power steering fluid reservoir hose clip bracket to the first generator bolt before tightening it then attach the a/c compressor/evaporator hose bracket to the second generator bolt with a finger tighten torque. Begin generator and idler pulley bolt tightening by applying 50 n.m (37 lb ft) torque while first torquing the idler pulley bolt followed by the generator bolts. After connecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the generator you must install the battery positive junction block cable terminal to the generator stud before securing the battery positive junction block cable to generator nut with a torque setting of 22 n.m (16 lb ft). Put the battery positive junction block cable boot over the stud, insert the coolant recovery reservoir tabs into upper radiator support slots, and tighten the bolts to 5 n.m (44 lb in). Install the upper radiator support a/c liquid line clamp bolt receiving 9 n.m (80 lb in) torque followed by the engine mount strut bracket and fuel injector sight shield maintenance before adding the Drive Belt and negative Battery Cable reinstallation.

The first step is to disconnect the negative Battery Cable in order to sort out the generator. Let go of the Drive Belt, then the fuel injector sight shield. Then remove the engine mount strut bracket mounting nut and the air conditioning (A/C) liquid line clamp bolt at the upper radiator support. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir bolts and do away with the reservoir out of the way. Then, remove the battery positive junction block cable to generator nut and terminal from the generate stud, then place battery positive junction block cable boot to the original position. While it is turned off, remove the generator wiring harness unit from the engine, and also remove the Power Steering Reservoir inlet hose clip from its bracket. Remove the idler pulley bolt and slide the pulley off, take the generator bolts, the a/c compressor/evaporator hose bracket off, and the power steering fluid reservoir hose clip bracket (Loosen the bol set). Pull off the generator and idler pulley from the said vehicle and take the idler pulley away from the generator. For installation, connect the idler pulley to the generator after which you install both back into the vehicle. Secure the power steering fluid reservoir hose clip bracket and the a/c compressor/evaporator hose bracket on to the generator bolts, tightening to 50nm (37Lb ft) in the given sequence. Attach the resurfacing inlet hose clip to the Power Steering Reservoir, then connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the generator, and install the battery positive junction block cable terminal and nut tighten to 22 nm (16 lb ft). Put the battery positive junction on the block cable boot onto the stud, and install the coolant recovery reservoir tabs and bolts and tighten the bolts to 5 nm (44 lb in). Re-install the a/c liquid line clamp bolt at the upper radiator support, after which follow the installation of the engine mount strut bracket, fuel injector sight shield, and the Drive Belt. At last, bring back the negative Battery Cable.

Altering the Alternator begins by cutting off the negative cable from the battery. Start by dismantling both the Drive Belt then moving onto the fuel injector sight shield. Start by disconnecting the upper radiator support clamp bolt that holds the a/c liquid line in place along with the engine mount strut bracket. Use a wrench to disconnect reservoir bolts before moving the recovery apparatus aside. Shift the cable boot of the battery positive junction block to perform a battery positive junction block cable to generator nut and terminal removal from the generator stud. Detach the electrical connector from the engine wiring harness that connects to the generator and remove the hose clip from the power steering reservoir bracket. Begin by relaxing the idler pulley bolt then push the pulley to its maximum extent before you can remove the generator bolts. Detach both the a/c compressor/evaporator hose bracket and power steering fluid reservoir hose clip bracket from the generator. First remove the generator together with the idler pulley from the vehicle where you can separate the idler pulley from the generator. Begin by screwing the idler pulley to the generator unit prior to reinstalling the assembly inside the vehicle. Fasten the power steering fluid reservoir hose clip bracket and the a/c compressor/evaporator hose bracket to the generator bolts following a specific sequence where torque reaches 50 nm (37 lb ft). Install the power steering reservoir inlet hose clip before connecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the generator and attaching the battery positive junction block cable terminal and securing its nut with 22 nm (16 lb ft) torque. Secure the battery positive junction block cable boot by placing it over the stud before installing the coolant recovery reservoir tabs into the upper radiator support using bolts tightened to 5 nm (44 lb in). Complete the installation phase by attaching the a/c liquid line clamp bolt to the upper radiator support and adding the engine mount strut bracket and fuel injector sight shield and Drive Belt. The last step is to connect the negative Battery Cable.

To change the Alternator, disconnect the negative Battery Cable and the Drive Belt should be removed as well. Reposition the battery positive junction block cable boot , and remove the battery positive junction block cable from generator nut , then battery positive junction block cable terminal from the generator stud. Now disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the generator, and take off the power steering reservoir inlet hose clip from the power steering fluid reservoir hose clip bracket. Loct ite the idler pulley bolt and slide the pulley out as far as possible before gen nuts. Next, remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor/evaporator hose bracket from the left generator stud, and the power steering fluid reservoir hose clip bracket from the right generator stud. Take out the generator and idler pulley from the vehicle, then separate the idler pulley from the generator. Attach the idler pulley on the generator, mount it on a vehicle. Secure the generator to the studs, and attach the power steering hose fluid reservoir clip bracket to the left generator stud and the a/c compressor/evaporator hose clamp bracket to the right generator stud. Fasten generator nuts finger tight and idler pulley bolt also finger tight. The specified generator bolt/nuts are tightened in a sequence as follows; idler pulley bolt, left nut and right nut, to 50n.m (37 lb ft). Reattach the power steering reservoir inlet hose clip to the power steering fluid reservoir hose clip bracket and plug the engine wiring harness electrical connector into the generator. Connect the battery positive junction block cable terminal to the generator stud and tighten the battery positive junction block cableugo the generator nut 22 n.m (16 lb ft). Replace the battery positive junction block cable boot over the stud and on to reinstall the Drive Belt, and at last complete reconnect with the negative Battery Cable.
