    Q:
How to replace the engine coolant thermostat in a 1.4L LDT/1.6 LXV on Chevrolet Aveo? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replacing the engine coolant Thermostat in a 1.4l ldt/1.6 lxv requires disconnecting the battery negative cable first. Start by draining the coolant before removing the upper Radiator Hose from the Thermostat Housing and disconnecting the wiring harness plug on the Thermostat. Start by removing the retaining bolts of the Thermostat Housing before separating the Thermostat Housing from the engine block. Test the Thermostat while examining both the Thermostat Housing and the areas where it mates with the cylinder head. Clean both components before installation. Install the Thermostat Housing onto the coolant distributor while using a new gasket because the plastic housing can break easily and develop internal cracks which might result in coolant leakage. Use new parts only during installation. Replace thermocouple wire connections on heated thermocouples if more than 15 degrees celsius non-recovery evident. Inspect coolant for leaks using a leak detector before and after installation. Fasten the Thermostat Housing to the coolant distributor by tightening its retaining bolt up to 8 nm (5.9 lb ft). Complete the procedures by installing the upper Radiator Hose followed by filling the engine cooling system before reconnecting the battery negative cable and its wiring harness plug.
