    Q:
How to replace the intermediate steering shaft on Buick Enclave? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the intermediate Steering Shaft, make sure you fix the Steering Wheel to the direct front using a steering column anti rotation pin, steering lower assembly, or a strap to straighten it from rotating because this will help to avoid damages to the sir system. After the Steering Wheel is locked, lift up the vehicle and disconnect the intermediate Steering Shaft boot from the steering gear and top seal. Unbolt the intermediate Steering Shaft and tie the steering gear back. Then, remove the left side instrument panel insulator panel. Then, you take the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt off the steering column, and take off the intermediate Steering Shaft , and the upper seal from its place. It is helpful to splatter both ends of the new or removed intermediate Steering Shaft when this is out of the vehicle in order to make the installation a bit easier. Install the intermediate Steering Shaft from the inside of the vehicle while adhering to fastener warnings. Mount the intermediate Steering Shaft to the steering column by fastening with the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt tightened to 22 nm(16 lb ft) and move the upper seal . Replace the left side instrument panel insulator panel then bring the intermediate Steering Shaft to the steering gear, attach with the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt whose bolt also tightened to 22 nm (16 lb ft). Finally, apply checks on the intermediate Steering Shaft boot not torn and reposition it in the same location from where it was removed, and fix it to the steering gear and upper seal.

    Q:
How to replace the intermediate steering shaft on Chevrolet Traverse? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before beginning intermediate Steering Shaft replacement secure the Steering Wheel with a strap then lock the Steering Column to shield the sir system from damage. Make sure the Steering Wheel stands in straight forward position before starting the process of disconnecting the Steering Column and intermediate shaft and steering gear. Taking these components off the system should be followed by keeping the front tires and wheels stationary to maintain alignment. Start by using vehicle hoisting tools to elevate the vehicle while removing the intermediate Steering Shaft boot from its position between the steering gear and upper seal. Use a socket to remove the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt then unfasten the shaft from the steering gear assembly. Next follow the procedure to remove the left side instrument panel insulator panel. Remove the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt from the Steering Column before you separate the Steering Shaft from the column and extract the upper seal . Disassembling the new or removed intermediate Steering Shaft becomes easier when owners separate both ends of the shaft outside the vehicle. The installation of the new intermediate Steering Shaft takes place within the vehicle while preserving fastener procedures. Install the intermediate Steering Shaft to the Steering Column before tightening the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt to 22 nm (16 lb ft). After this, place the upper seal correctly. Secure the intermediate Steering Shaft to the steering gear with bolt which also requires a torque setting of 22 nm (16 lb ft). Then reinstall the left side instrument panel insulator panel before setting the intermediate Steering Shaft in its position. Check the intermediate Steering Shaft boot for damage before reinstalling it while keeping it in its original position. Then replace boot sections to both the steering gear and upper seal.
