    Q:
How to replace the steering wheel on Buick Park Avenue? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of the Steering Wheel requires a system disable and removal of the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module. Steer away from the electrical connector of the Steering Wheel while also securing your weight block if present on the Steering Wheel base. Start by loosening the Steering Wheel nut then keep track of the alignment marks between the Steering Shaft and wheel for later installation. Start by installing the Steering Wheel puller legs (J 42578) and the Steering Wheel puller (11859-A) to the Steering Wheel. These tools enable you to separate the Steering Wheel from the Steering Column and remove it. Follow these steps: take the tools away and pass the wiring through the new Steering Wheel before using the alignment marks to reinstall the wheel. Fasten the Steering Wheel retaining nut to 41 nm (30 ft. Lbs.) of torque. Before engaging the sir system install the weight block and reconnect the Steering Wheel electrical connector and place the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module back into position.
