The first step to replace the power window switch in the rear door involves opening the ashtray lid and using fingers to lift the front opening while releasing the spring clip. Push the switch plate in direction to free the retainer tabs at the rear before detaching the electric wires. The retainer tabs on the switch plate need to be freed with a small flat-bladed tool to remove the power window switch. The new power window switch requires fitting into the switch plate before connecting electrical connectors for installation. Fasten the switch plate tabs underneath the door trim panel at its rear position before using your hands to push down on the switch plate front edge so the retainer clip will activate. Reattach the ashtray into its opening.
