2004 GMC Safari Fuel Filler Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace a Fuel Filler Hose on 2004 GMC Safari?
A: A proper replacement of the fuel filler tube begins by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by draining the Fuel Tank until it falls under the Fuel Tank filler tube level. Secure the lift of your vehicle after removing the fuel filler tube with its screws along with the fuel filler pocket. Use clean cloth to wipe the fuel filler tube at the Fuel Tank before disconnecting its clamp. Pull out the fuel filler tube attaching screw from its position and extract the fuel filler tube. The new fuel filler tube should be inserted into the Fuel Tank followed by attaching the fuel filler tube attaching screw that requires a torque setting of 11.5 nm (102 lb in.). Fasten the fuel filler tube hose with a clamp while securing the clamp with a torque of 3 nm (27 lb in.). Install the fuel filler tube screws at the fuel filler pocket while tightening them to 1.9 nm (17 lb in.). The procedure ends with Battery Cable reattachment before Fuel Tank refill and checking for fluid leakages.
