2007 Buick Terraza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the vacuum brake booster on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: Before installing the new vacuum Brake Booster you need to lower fuel system pressure and empty the cooling system. Take out the Coolant Reservoir at the left side and also detach the front crossbar as well as the ecm cover from the air cleaner housing. Set the ecm aside but do not disconnect its power cable and take out the air cleaner unit. Unplug all fuel lines from their metal pipes and vacuum line while moving the hose away from the water passageway. You can reach the brake pipes easier by uncoupling the fuel lines from the shock tower. Afterward disconnect the fluid level switch from the Brake Master Cylinder and take out both brake components with the master cylinder. Unfasten the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly and bracket first before removing its vacuum hose from the Brake Booster check valve. Unfasten the booster push pin retaining clip along with washer and knee bolster from the Brake Pedal assembly. Then detach the Brake Booster push rod from its position in the Brake Pedal. Turn off the nuts that hold the Brake Booster before moving the engine forward for installation and removing the booster. Place the Brake Booster against the cowl and mounting plate before installing its mounting nuts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Insert the master cylinder into position then add the Brake Booster push rod to the Brake Pedal while anchoring with its washer and retaining clip. Set the Brake Pedal position sensor measurements before you attach the knee bolster. Place the engine back in its position and fit all engine mounts alongside their bolts and nuts. Install the bpmv assembly along with its bracket after linking the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose to the vacuum Brake Booster check valve. Under matters of the Brake Master Cylinder put it back in place and reconnect the brake lines with the fluid level sensor switch installed onto the master cylinder. Put the heater hose down to the coolant crossover pipe while attaching shock tower gas lines and the air cleaner assembly along with the ecm and ecm cover. Put back the left front cross brace before filling and bleeding the cooling system then bleeding the brake system.
