Drilling out the Muffler heat shield rivets constitutes the second step while the procedure for lwb-equipped vehicles includes drilling out extra rivets. Take the new heat shield and position it against the underbody as per the specifications for lwb models. New rivets need to be used to secure the Muffler heat shield at the underbody position because proper alignment must be maintained. Follow the same process of positioning and installing new rivets for attaching the Muffler heat shield to underbody before reattaching the Muffler.
