  A: First disable the SIR to begin replacement of the front end sensor in the inflatable restraint system. Lift and stabilize the vehicle after that. Start by removing the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) which protects the front end discriminating sensor electrical connector before disconnecting this electrical cable. Turn the inflatable restraint front end sensor mounting nut loosely then push the sensor forward until it frees itself from the lower radiator support keyhole slot. Free the mounting surface from all dirt and grease while also aligning the sensor arrow toward the vehicle's front direction. Insert the inflatable restraint front end sensor into the keyhole slot of the lower radiator support while moving it backward toward the vehicle's rear to achieve proper seating. Perform nut tightness to 10 N.m (89 lb in), reattach the wiring connector before installing the CPA. Remove safety stands after lowering the vehicle to enable the SIR system.
