The procedure for installing the front side door lock striker begins with shutting down the ignition and taking out the key to stop SIR activation and prevent personal injuries. Make installation marks on the striker using a grease pencil. First remove the bolts from the striker before taking it out. Fasten the striker bolts loosely to the striker before aligning it with the already marked reference points. After loosely installing the striker using bolts check the door closure while adjusting according to demands and finally tighten its bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Tighten the striker bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). After removing the striker bolts the anchor plate can slide down from the door pillar until access to the panel opening requires removing the exterior trim.
