How to replace the shock absorber on 2010 Cadillac SRX?

To replace the strut assembly first raise and support the vehicle then tire and wheel assembly have to be removed. Remove the stabilizer shaft link from the strut and do the same with the head lamp level sensor link from the lower Control Arm if fitted such that the lower Control Arm and Steering Knuckle do not drop more than 2 inches. Support the lower Control Arm and Steering Knuckle, remove the electrical harness/sensor from the strut if equipped, and remove the front compartment side sight shields. With the ch 49375 - wrench, remove front suspension strut mount nut and front suspension strut mount washer , and remove front suspension strut bolts and nuts , and then front suspension strut assembly from the vehicle. For installation, align the front suspension strut assembly in the vehicle, and using the ch 49375 - wrench install the front suspension strut mount washer and nut , which is then to be tightened to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Install the front suspension strut bolts and nuts and tighten(loosen)the bolts to 190 nm in (140 lb ft). Reconnect wiring harness/sensor from the strut if applicable and reconnect head lamp level sensor link to the low control bar if applicable. Commander dethumbs the lower Control Arm and Steering Knuckle, installs the front stabilizer shaft link, re-installs the tire and wheel assembly and the front compartment side sight shields. Lastly, retract the support and then extend the vehicle down.
