PAS, in collaboration with GMC, developed the GMC Syclone in Troy, Michigan. It was recognized in 1991 as the fast production vehicle in terms of 0–60 mph acceleration. The Syclone uses the GMC Sonoma platform as its construction basis and includes a turbocharged 4.3-liter V6 LB4 engine that delivers 280 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque through a TD06-17C turbocharger and a Garrett air-to-water heat exchanger system. The vehicle operates with a 4L60 automatic transmission along with a BorgWarner 4472 transfer case that divides torque between front and rear areas using 35% front and 65% rear splits to maximize four-wheel drive performance. The modified suspension of the Syclone improves driving handling while advanced braking elements enable smooth brake control without wheel lock. The Syclone operates optimally on paved roads due to its dimensions of 180.5 inches length and 68.2 inches width and 108.3 inches wheelbase since its recommended cargo capacity only reaches 500 pounds. Those who own high-performance GMC Syclones can achieve reliability and extend their vehicle lifetime whenever they use genuine OEM parts from GMC. Preserving the GMC Syclone's performance levels and maintaining its integrity depends on using authentic Syclone parts which represent GMC's devotion to quality standards.
