Push the locking tabs inside to pull out the transaxle range selector cable from its bracket before taking out the console. The transaxle range selector cable needs its terminal disconnected from the shift lever pin followed by a pull on the lock release before removal of the transaxle range selector cable from the console. At the cowl panel disconnect the Shift Cable grommet before you eliminate the Shift Cable from the vehicle. Seating the Shift Cable behind the cowl panel grommet allows installation of the range selector cable onto the console joined with the lock release attachment. The shift lever pin should receive the transaxle range selector cable terminal while the console gets reinstalled and the transaxle range selector cable gets set in the bracket. The installation process ends with attaching the transaxle range selector cable terminal to the transaxle manual shift lever pin alongside inserting the retainer into the transaxle range selector cable mechanism before adjusting the automatic transmission range selector cable.
