    How to replace the Power Vacuum Brake Booster (RHD) on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer

    Start replacement of the power vacuum Brake Booster (RHD) by taking out the right closeout/insulator panel first. Disengage the vacuum Brake Booster push rod retaining clip then take off its connecting rod that connects to the brake pedal. You can take out a cross vehicle brace without handling the brake pipes that link to the master cylinder. Put the master cylinder on top of the vacuum Brake Booster and set it aside for now. Locate the vacuum Brake Booster lock tab by removing its air inlet grille panel and separate the vacuum Brake Booster check valve. Position the check valve to the side. To detach the vacuum Brake Booster from the cowl locking mechanism use the j 22805-b ratchet with the counterclockwise torque and depress the locking tab until it releases from the front of the cowl. While holding the vacuum Brake Booster against support remove its foam filter to reach the retaining clip at the cowl flange. Pull the retaining clip up from its longer side to take out the Pushrod from the booster. Install the vacuum Brake Booster while keeping the internal parts unharmed and making sure to remove any damage from the locking flanges. Align the vacuum Brake Booster locking tab if needed and insert the Pushrod through its dust boot on the cowl before carefully plugging it into the Pushrod system making sure the long replaceable portion of the retainer clip fits into the factory-made groove. Push the booster fully onto the Pushrod so the retaining clip seats properly before aligning it with the cowl at the top counterclockwise. Twist the booster clockwise using the j 22805-b while adjusting the locking notch and locking tab. Reinsert the j 22805-b tool and attach the vacuum hose with check valve while putting back the air inlet grille. First assemble the master cylinder with vacuum Brake Booster before reusing the cross vehicle brace. Then link the Pushrod from vacuum Brake Booster to the brake pedal. Secure the brake pedal push rod retaining clip in its position before placing back the right closeout/insulator panel.
