    Q:
How to replace the rear brake caliper bracket on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the rear Brake Caliper Bracket, firstly one should support the brake caliper with heavy mechanics wire after it has been separated from the mounting bracket without cutting of hydraulic brake flexible hose as it would lead to damage and leakage. Next, pop out the brake pads from the Brake Caliper Bracket and pull out the Brake Pad retainers from the same bracket. Then pull off the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts and the rear Brake Caliper Bracket. Clean any rust off of the Brake Caliper Bracket with a wire brush and check the brake mounting and hardware. Before installation, you must make sure that all caliper bracket bolts and threaded holes are clean from threadlocker traced and dirt by cleaning them with the use of denatured alcohol or equivalent and let the caliper bracket bolts and threaded holes dry. If using the old caliper bracket bolts, apply threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) (or an equivalent), to a 2/3 of the bullet length with no gaps. Leave the threadlocker to cure for about ten minutes, then install the Brake Caliper Bracket. Mounting of the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts should be carried out with a high level of torque which is 120 n.m (86 lb ft). Brake the pin bolts with high-temperature silicone lube instead after that put on the Brake Pad retainers as well as brake pads to the Brake Caliper Bracket after it finally get to install brake caliper.
