To work on the front Wheel Bearing you should first lift and support the vehicle. Take off the tire and wheel first before disconnecting the wheel speed sensor electrical connection and taking it out from its bracket. Take out the Brake Caliper Bracket including the brake caliper and brake rotor combined. You should first take off the wheel drive shaft nut prior to attaching j 28733-b front hub spindle remover (J 28733-B) to the Wheel Bearing/hub using three wheel nuts. Push the wheel drive shaft out of the Wheel Bearing/hub through the j 28733-b tool while maintaining the wheel drive shaft outer seal (boot). Remove and discard Wheel Bearing/hub bolts safely. Mount the new Wheel Bearing/hub assembly using fresh hardware to avoid control problems. Fortify the new Wheel Bearing/hub bolts at 130 nm tension (96 ft. Lbs.) next apply the wheel drive shaft nut. Return the brake rotor and Brake Caliper Bracket onto the brake caliper while making sure the connector clip fits correctly into the bracket. Before finishing install the wheel speed sensor electrical connector onto the bracket and plug it into the terminal.

Before you start replacing the front Wheel Bearing and hub you must raise the vehicle. Take out the tire and wheel from the vehicle before disconnecting the Wheel Speed Sensor electric wires if present and detaching its bracket. Put on the drift or flat-bladed tool at the caliper and rotor before you can take off their drive shaft nut. Fasten the j 42129 Wheel Hub remover (J 42129) onto the Wheel Bearing/hub section by threading in three wheel nuts. Push the drive shaft from the Wheel Bearing using j 42129 tool and remove all Wheel Bearing bolts before taking the j 42129 off. Take off the Wheel Hub assembly without damaging its seals and boot. Also withdraw the Wheel Bearing/hub and splash shield while keeping note of shield placement. Put the new Wheel Bearing/hub on the vehicle in its original splash shield position and use new fasteners according to safety standards. Replace Wheel Bearing/hub bolts with new parts and tighten them to 130 n.m (96 lb ft). Place the brake rotor and caliper back in place after installing their components and tighten the drive shaft nut gradually to 160 n.m (118 lb ft) using a drift or flat-bladed tool to keep the rotor stationary. Properly position the connector clip on the bracket part while attaching the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector when needed before setting the sensor cable properly into its electrical connection points. When done install the tire and wheel then lower the car.

Place the vehicle on a lift at a frame height that lets control arms rest loose as you begin wheel bearing and hub replacement. Take out the wheel and tire set from the drive axle before preparing this space for maintenance. Stick a drift punch or screwdriver into the brake caliper and rotor to secure them and remove the wheel bearing nut then the rotor. Unplug the abs sensor and detach its clip from the dust shield. Remove all wheel bearing/hub retaining bolts to replace the hub assembly as one unit. You need the j28733-b front hub spindle remover tool to dismount the wheel bearing and hub unit from the drive axle before removing it from the Steering Knuckle and then taking off the dust shield. Wipe all surfaces on the knuckle mounting face including the bore and chamber to ready them for the new bearing. Prevent damage to the abs sensor wire when installing. Take off its plastic protector and keep both the knuckle and hub away from direct contact with this wire. Fit the wheel bearing/hub onto the drive axle by adding a thin grease coating to the knuckle bore then thread in the retaining bolts and torque them to 95 nm (70 ft. Lbs.). Fasten a fresh drive axle nut that pulls the wheel bearing/hub toward the Axle Shaft then plug and fasten the abs wheel speed sensor as planned. Place the brake rotor onto the spindle but keep it from spinning using a drift punch or screwdriver. Tighten the drive axle nut gradually to achieve a torque setting of 160 nm or 118 ft. Lbs. Slowly lower the vehicle after installing its tire and wheel assembly.

Remove the tire and wheel to reach the front Wheel Bearing hub replacement site. Also disconnect the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector if needed. Use assistance tools to release the wheel drive shaft through the caliper and rotor before removing the brake rotor. Drive shaft removal starts with loosening the nut then using a flat tool to stop wheel rotation. Put the Wheel Hub remover (J42129) on the Wheel Bearing/hub by tightening its three wheel nuts. First push the wheel drive shaft out of the Wheel Bearing with the Wheel Hub remover (J42129). Then discard and remove the Wheel Bearing/hub bolts before taking the Wheel Hub remover off the hub. Keep the Wheel Bearing seal undamaged when you remove the Wheel Bearing and splash shield. Also record the shield position to place it back correctly. Put the shipping bracket back on the new Wheel Bearing/hub and restore its position during removal in the splash shield. Install brand-new fasteners every time you adjust them since improper fasteners can trigger vehicle instability and bodily harm. Update both Wheel Bearing/hub bolts and torque them to 130 nm. Insert the brake rotor and caliper in place before installing the front wheels drive shaft nut using a drift or flat-bladed tool to keep the rotor from spinning. Tighten the nut to 160 nm (118 ft. Lbs.). Secure the connector clip onto its bracket before attaching the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector to the bracket while putting back the tire and wheel assembly.

Install the new wheel bearing/hub but use new bolts to lower the chance of losing vehicle control or being hurt. After tightening new wheel bearing/hub bolts to 130 nm (96 ft. Lbs.) you must install wheel drive shaft nut, brake rotor, brake caliper bracket along with brake caliper. Be sure the bracket connector locks in place and fasten the wheel speed sensor connector to the bracket. Afterward plug in the wheel speed sensor electrical connector. After installing the tire and wheel you can put the vehicle back on its usual height.

First lift the vehicle and then support it. Take off the tire and wheel and disconnect the Wheel Speed Sensor cable when it has this function before pulling away the part from its bracket. You must take out the Brake Caliper Bracket with the caliper then later proceed to take off the brake rotor. Place j 28733-b front/rear spindle remover (J 28733-B) on the Wheel Bearing/hub and fasten it with three wheel nuts to the Wheel Bearing/hub. Drive the wheel shaft outside of the Wheel Bearing/hub using j 28733-b. After that remove and discard the Wheel Bearing/hub bolts. Replace the Wheel Bearing/hub with the new part and use new fasteners to attach the Wheel Bearing/hub bolts which need to be tightened to 130 n.m (96 lb ft). Drill in the wheel drive shaft nut and put the brake rotor and Brake Caliper Bracket with the brake caliper in place afterward. If equipped with a Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector you need to reconnect it to its bracket by ensuring the locking clip fits securely and reestablish its electrical connection. Place and fasten the tire and wheel unit when you put the vehicle back on the ground.

Front/rear spindle remover model j 28733-b is needed to service Wheel Bearing and hub unit fe7. First lift the vehicle and take out the tire and wheel components. Place a flat tool between the caliper and rotor to stop the rotor from turning. Next remove the wheel display shaft nut and rotor. Remove the sensor connector plug from the dust shield and its bolted Wheel Bearing and hub location. Employ the front/rear spindle remover (J 28733-B) tool to detach hub and bearing assembly from the axle assembly and successfully remove both parts from the drive axle. Wash the knuckle mounting area, bore, and chamfer to help the bearing and knuckle seat correctly. Handle the Wheel Bearing and hub only by the mechanical parts because the abs sensor wire needs protection. Set the dust shield into place exactly to protect the bearing outboard lip seal before building up the Wheel Bearing and hub unit onto the drive axle. Free the Wheel Bearing hub and bearing by tightening the drive axle nut and fastening the Wheel Bearing hub and bearing bolts at 152 nm (112 ft. Lbs.). Reattach the front wheel speed sensor connector and lock it into place on the dust shield before putting on the brake rotor. Put a large flat tool into the caliper and rotor to immobilize the rotor before tightening the wheel axle nut to 230 nm (170 ft. Lbs). Place the wheel and tire onto position before letting the car down to the ground.

Before starting work on the front wheel bearings and hub you must lift and steady the vehicle and uninstall the tire and wheel. Drive a punch tool into the rotor and take off the Wheel Bearing and hub retaining nut alongside its washer. Next you should remove the brake rotor. The front/rear spindle remover (J 28733-B) tool splits the drive axle from the hub before you disconnect the Wheel Bearing and hub bolts. Disconnect the abs sensor cord from the hub first before taking out the Wheel Bearing and hub unit. To put in place the Wheel Hub and bearing assembly onto the Steering Knuckle connect the ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Connector to its designated location. Place Wheel Hub parts in position and bolt them using 95 nm torque before placing back the brake rotor. Install the drive axle washer and retaining nut then fasten the axle nut with a drift punch until it reaches 145 nm (110 ft. Lbs.). Place the wheel back onto its position and slowly lower the vehicle.

Start your replacement project by properly lifting and holding your vehicle. Take off the tire and wheel before disconnecting the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector if available and taking it from its bracket. You can take off the front wheel drive shaft nut but stop both the wheel and caliper parts from rotating using a flat tool. Fit the j 42129 Wheel Hub remover (J 42129) parts to the Wheel Bearing/hub by tightening the wheel nuts to three nuts. Using the j 42129 tool push the wheel drive shaft out of the Wheel Bearing/hub space. Remove and discard all Wheel Bearing/hub bolts before taking off the tool from its position. Check if the boot of the wheel drive shaft has no damage. Remove the Wheel Bearing and hub assembly alongside the splash shield. Keep track of its position to reinstall it later. Put the new Wheel Bearing and hub in its proper location marked on removal along with the splash shield before installing fresh fasteners which need to be tightened up to 130 nm. Fitting the brake rotor and caliper back in place requires installation of the front wheel drive shaft nut at 190 nm torque (140 ft. Lbs.). Use a tool like a drift or flat blade to stop the rotor during tightening. Before attaching the Wheel Speed Sensor the connector clip must fit tightly into the bracket positioning. Put on the tire and wheel after lowering the vehicle to the ground.

Start the hub/bearing service and repair work by raising and holding the vehicle. Detach the wheel speed sensor electrical connector from its bracket through the front wheel base to access the Wheel Bearing. First take off the Brake Caliper Bracket together with its attached brake caliper and brake rotor. Fix the j28733-b front hub spindle remover tool to the Wheel Bearing/hub using three wheel nuts before pushing out the wheel drive shaft. To advance the wheel drive shaft out of its location, apply the j28733-b tool and push but keep the wheel drive shaft outer seal intact. Afterwards, remove and throw away the Wheel Bearing/hub bolts. The new Wheel Bearing/hub requires new fasteners because wheel drive shaft hardware needs replacement when it loosens or when wheel drive shaft removal occurs to avoid accidents and vehicle control failure. Use 130 nm of torque to fasten new Wheel Bearing/hub bolts before fitting the wheel drive shaft nut. Return the brake rotor and its bracket with the brake caliper making sure the connector clip attaches to the correct position. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector to its bracket and secure it. Also plug in the wheel speed sensor electrical connector to its port. Afterwards, install the tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.

Be sure the bracket connector locks in place and fasten the wheel speed sensor connector to the bracket. Afterward plug in the wheel speed sensor electrical connector. After installing the tire and wheel you can put the vehicle back on its usual height.

Remove the tires and wheels, followed by the brake rotor.

The wheel bearing/hub electrical connector.

Lower the vehicle.

Remove the wheel bearing/hub retaining bolts, then take out the wheel bearing/hub lower and the brake shield from the lower control arm.

Remove the mounting bolts from the rear bearing/hub.

Clean and lubricate the drive axle threads.

Install the bolts and tighten them to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).

Detach the park brake actuator from the rear wheel bearing/hub.

Disconnect the antilock brake system (ABS) front wheel speed sensor connector and unclip it from the dust shield.

Note the splash shield's position for reinstallation.

Begin by raising and supporting the vehicle.

Attach the brake shield and the wheel bearing/hub to the control arm, ensuring to follow the fastener notice.

Clean them.

Disconnect the wheel bearing/hub electrical connector.

Remove the brake shield from the lower control arm and clean the control arm face and bore prior to installation.

Clean the rust and foreign material from the knuckle mounting face, bore, and chamber.

Remove the protective plastic cover, taking care not to handle the knuckle or hub assembly by the ABS sensor wire.

Insert a drift punch or a screwdriver into the caliper and rotor.

Disconnect the ABS electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor.

Attach the rear wheel hub and park brake assembly to the knuckle, ensuring to install new rear wheel hub-to-knuckle bolts and tighten them to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).

Reconnect the park brake cable to the park brake actuator and the ABS electrical connector to the wheel speed sensor, if equipped.

Raise and support the vehicle appropriately.

Install the wheel bearing/hub and dust shield to the steering knuckle.

The hub and bearing should be replaced only as an assembly.

Remove the brake caliper bracket along with the brake caliper, followed by the brake rotor.

Install the dust shield without damaging the bearing outboard lip seal.

The wheel bearing is integrated into one unit, making the hub non-serviceable; if damaged, the complete hub and bearing assembly must be replaced.

Remove the tire and wheel.

Install the tire and wheel, and lower the vehicle.

Disconnect the ABS electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor if equipped.

Clean the lower control arm face and bore.

Clean the lower control arm face and bore.

Install the tire and wheel, and then lower the vehicle.

Remove the ABS sensor.

Attach with the retaining bolts, tightening them to 118 Nm (87 ft. lbs.).

Reconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector, install the rear brake rotor, and finally, put the tire and wheel back on before lowering the vehicle.

Clean the lower control arm face and bore.

Reconnect the front wheel speed sensor connector and clip it to the dust shield, then install the brake rotor.

Begin by raising and supporting the vehicle.

Clean the lower control arm face and bore.

Install the tire and wheel, and lower the vehicle.

Install the dust shield and wheel bearing and hub onto the lower control arm.

Install the brake rotor, reconnect the ABS sensor wire electrical connector, and finally, install the tire and wheel.

The Wheel Hub Remover (J28733-B).

Reconnect it to the bracket if equipped.

Remove the front wheel drive shaft nut and the brake rotor.

Remove the brake rotor and attach the J 42129 Wheel Hub Remover to the wheel bearing/hub using three wheel nuts.

Take out the mounting bolts from the rear bearing/hub and remove the wheel bearing/hub and park brake assembly from the knuckle.

Attach the J 42129 (Wheel Hub Remover) to the wheel bearing/hub using three wheel nuts.

Detach the rear caliper and bracket, followed by the brake rotor.

Raise and support the vehicle, then remove the tire and wheel.

Ensure the connector clip engages the bracket properly, then install the wheel speed sensor electrical connector to the bracket if equipped.

Remove the tire and wheel.

Reconnect the ABS electrical connector to the wheel speed sensor.

Ensure the connector clip engages the bracket properly and install the connector if equipped.

Reinstall the brake rotor, tires, and wheels, and lower the vehicle.

Detach the park brake actuator from the rear wheel bearing/hub.

Remove the mounting bolts from the rear bearing/hub and take out the wheel bearing/hub and park brake assembly from the knuckle.

Ensure the connector clip engages the bracket properly, then install the wheel speed sensor electrical connector to the bracket and connect it.

Install the new wheel bearing/hub, replacing the fasteners with new ones.

Discard the old wheel bearing/hub bolts.

Install the brake drum and then the tire and wheel.

Discard the old wheel bearing/hub bolts.

Place the wheel bearing/hub assembly onto the knuckle and install the bolts into the assembly, tightening them to 130 Nm (96 ft. lbs.).

Remove the wheel bearing/hub assembly from the knuckle.
