  • Q: How to replace the front wheel bearing and hub on 2010 Chevrolet Impala?
    A: First support the vehicle at its proper height to work on the front Wheel Bearing and hub. Separate the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector with the bracket when it is installed. Take off both components: the drive shaft nut from the front wheel and the brake rotor. Fasten three wheel nuts to the j 42129 wheel hub remover before slowly pushing the drive shaft out of the Wheel Bearing/hub through j 42129. Take off the j 42129 tool from the hub after you remove the Wheel Bearing/hub bolts to prevent damage to the wheel drive shaft boot and seal. Remove the Wheel Bearing/hub unit from its location and keep track of the splash shield's proper position for reinstalling work. Place the new Wheel Bearing/hub assembly using the recorded shield location while replacing all fasteners with fresh ones due to safety requirements. The new Wheel Bearing hub bolts receive a torque setting of 130 nm (96 lb ft). Put back the brake rotor and caliper with the drive shaft nut installation as the connector clip needs to meet its bracket connection point. Reconnect the wheel sensor electric wire to its mounting place and the cable housing. Position the tire and wheel unit then lower the car.
