    A: The first task to change the Parking Brake Rear Cable (Z7U) requires secure vehicle elevation along with stabilization. To begin the procedure remove tension from the park brake cable at the equalizer before disconnecting the front cable that will replace the rear cable needing replacement. You can detach the cable from its clip for the right rear cable while you need to remove the equalizer nut fully from the equalizer stud that belongs to the left rear cable. Unfasten the retainer that secures the cable to the support bracket through the usage of J 37043 (Parking Brake Cable Release Tool) to release the retainer. First disconnect the park brake cable from the actuator lever before you complete removal of the cable retaining pin from the support bracket and extract the park brake cable. To install the cable position it into the support bracket before placing the retaining pin. The installation process requires attaching the park brake cable to the actuator lever following reinstallation of the retainer to the support bracket together with front cable attachment to the rear cable. To install the right rear cable you must attach it to the clip and for the left rear cable you need to put the equalizer stud onto the equalizer nut that belongs to the equalizer assembly. Adjust the park brake followed by lowering the vehicle.
