    A: Before commencing the front cable replacement of the parking brake you need to raise and support your vehicle. You need to first reduce tension on the park brake equalizer cables before disconnecting the front cable from the connector while remove it from both the equalizer and cable guides. The next step includes removing left side closeout/insulator panel followed by a removal of lower center pillar panel on the left along with left side carpet retainers. The front park brake cable can be reached by folding back carpeting so slide off the retaining clip to disconnect the cable from its clevis position. You need the Parking Brake Cable Release Tool (J 37043) to free the cable retainer connected to the pedal assembly bracket before you take out the front cable from the vehicle while recording its installation path. To install the front cable fit it into the vehicle as done during disassembly and place it into the bracket on the park brake pedal assembly before securing the cable button end with the clevis by using a retaining clip. Install the left side carpet retainers before you put on the lower center pillar trim panel after which you need to install the left side closeout/insulator panel. After raising and supporting the vehicle you should feed the front park brake cable into its cable guides and through the equalizer. The procedure ends by wiring the front park brake cable to the rear cable through the connector clip before enhancing equalizer cable tension through its tightening nut and completing the vehicle depressurization.
