    Q:
How to replace the ABS Control Module on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the ABS Control Module requires that you turn the ignition switch to OFF. The first step for the 3.8L engine requires you to take off the front fender upper diagonal brace before removing the fuel injector sight shield. The air cleaner intake duct requires removal using the proper replacement methods for both 3.8L and 3.6L (LY7) engine types. Plug the connector out by dislodging the locking tab of the ABS Control Module harness connector. Clear the assembly components from debris and use care to remove the 6 ABS Control Module to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) retaining bolts/screws without separating components and safeguarding solenoid valves. The installation requires the user to disconnect both the ABS Control Module from its BPMV position and the pump motor connector at the ABS Control Module base. Connect the ABS Control Module pump motor connector followed by ABS Control Module installation onto the BPMV while tightening the 6 retaining bolts/screws to 2.9 N.m (26 lb in). The installation process requires reinstalling the air cleaner intake duct followed by front fender upper diagonal brace until it fit perfectly and finally securing the fuel injector sight shield for the 3.8L engine. Complete the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle after placing the ignition switch to RUN and refraining from engine start. The Programming information together with setup details can be found in Control Module References.
