    Start the front park brake cable replacement by obtaining the essential tools which include the Park Brake Cable Release Tool (J37043). Start by uninstalling the left-side instrument panel insulator followed by the left-side door sill plate while you also expose the carpet by folding it backward. Rise the vehicle and maintain its position while you unfasten the park brake cable equalizer nut to extract the left-side cable from the equalizer. Remove first the cable end from its connector and then remove both cable and equalizer and guide connections. Detach the cable nuts from underbody studs then remove the clips on the cable. The Park Brake Cable Release Tool (J37043) should be used to uninstall the cable end from the lever clevis when the vehicle is lowered. Take off the front park brake cable which is located inside the vehicle. The new front park brake cable requires installation by positioning it to attach with the park brake lever before connecting to the clevis. Undertake cable clip mounting in shielded positions after repositioning and supporting the vehicle. Secure the cable nuts on underbody studs by tightening them until they reach 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.). Install the cable end to the connector and left-side cable to the equalizer after reattaching it to both guides and the equalizer. Begin by adjusting the park brake cable before stopping the vehicle which will need the carpet to be folded back and installation of both the left-side door sill plate and instrument panel insulator.
