Intermediate Cable

The first procedure for right rear park brake cable replacement entails releasing the park brake and raising and supporting the vehicle. Lower the park brake cable in front of the equalizer while disconnecting its right side from the equalizer bar. Press the locking tabs on the mounting bracket to remove the cable and separate the park brake cable from the differential clip before extracting the bolt holding the rear axle clip. The next step is to remove the mounting bracket bolt of the rear brake cable followed by disconnecting the cable from the lever. Use a pair of pliers to press down on the locking tabs of the brake cable followed by pulling the cable out from the body mounts and guides in the rear brake cable mounting bracket. To install the brake cable mount the new cable into the rear bracket where the locking tabs automatically connect before connecting the park lever. Fasten the bolt for the rear park brake cable bracket with 61 Nm torque (45 ft. lbs.). After connecting the park brake cable to the differential clip you must fasten the park brake cable bolt to the rear axle clip by tightening it to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Position the park brake cable through all guides and body mounts before fitting it into the mounting bracket until the locking tabs find their positions. To continue the park brake setup, you should stretch the cable downward at the equalizer segment before securing the left parking brake cable to the bar. Complete the task by taking away the safety stands while manually lowering the vehicle.

Pull it down in front of the equalizer and detach the left park brake cable from the equalizer bar.
