    Q:
How to replace the front parking brake cable on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
A proper replacement of the front Parking Brake Cable demands first positioning the park brake hand lever down to disengage the adjuster pawl followed by vehicle elevation and support. Pull the strand of front cable until extension reaches completion before removing the rear cables from the equalizer . Detach the fitting point of the park brake front cable through usage of the Parking Brake Cable release tool (J 37043) from its bracket before extracting the cable grommet from the underbody cavity. First drop the vehicle to the ground and then empty the front floor console from its position. The park brake lever should be kept in the up position when you detach the park brake spring. Hold the park brake lever down during the process while rotating the adjuster arm forward until it stops moving. After this point bend the tab on the front cable end barrel shape to permit cable strand advancement. To separate the park brake front cable from the park brake lever and Floor Pan use the j 37043 Parking Brake Cable release tool alongside the barrel-shaped front cable end fitting removal from the adjuster track on the pulley. To properly install the park brake front cable combination with grommet you should position them into the Floor Pan slot then use soapy water for lubrication as you carefully position the grommet with the help of a small curved flat-ended pry bar. Succeed in connecting the front park brake cable to the park brake lever by placing the barrel-shaped front cable end fitting into the adjuster track on the pulley then rotate the adjuster arm toward the rear to activate the adjuster spring. Place the park brake lever down before raising the vehicle to support and then attach the rear fitting of the front cable conduit to the Floor Pan bracket while pulling the equalizer backwards until it stops and connecting the rear cables to it. To finish installation you should lower the vehicle and take three complete cycles on the park brake lever before placing the front floor console.
