    Q:
How to replace the front parking brake cable on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
Raising the vehicle and freeing the equalizer serves as the starting point to replace the front parking brake cable. Lower the vehicle after disconnecting the front cable from its connector at the left rear cable. Remove the release cable from the lever assembly before you detach the cowl side panel trim. Moving on, uninstall the step trim plate and remove the lever assembly so you can lift the rocker panel trim and gently peel back the carpeting until you see the park brake cable grommet. Unclip the front cable then pull it out through the vehicle compartment. Begin installation by first inserting the front cable through the body then securing the grommet before clamping the cable to the kick panel. Securing the lever assembly begins with connecting the cable to the lever assembly and following with the lever assembly installation steps. Reinstall the cowl side panel while you install the step trim plate followed by a connection of the release cable to the lever assembly. To connect the cable to the left rear connector first lift the vehicle then complete the connection before checking the adjustment.
