    Q:
How to replace the rear brake calipers on Cadillac Catera? Posted by Customer
    A:
The driver must raise their vehicle and supports it before removing the wheel and tire assembly. When heat damages brake fluid in the caliper do not push this material back into the brake system. Put the tube over the bleeder screw hole then open it to drain the brake fluid into a container. Push the pistons into the caliper housing chamber until they reach the bore. Drive out the blocking pins of the rear brake caliper using a punch while entering from the outer side and push out the spring retainer and brake pads afterwards. Begin by taking off the rear Brake Caliper Bolt and the pipe underneath it. After that pull out the rear brake caliper. Place the brake caliper in its place then add the rear brake caliper bolts before tightening them to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.). Connect the rear brake caliper pipe to its position and tighten the connection to 16 nm (12 ft. Lbs.). Afterwards, place the brake pads in position. When securing the brake caliper pins use a punch that pushes the first pin into the caliper to pass through pad holes then install the brake caliper spring retainer and drive the second pin. Finish by bleeding your hydraulic brake system then put back the tire unit and lower the vehicle.
