The procedure to replace front door Window Channel retainers begins with separating the front door frame applique and trim panel while also removing the water deflector along with outside rear view mirror and inner window belt sealing strip. After placing the window in a full downward position you must remove the front door window Weather Strip. Lift the bolt from the Window Channel retainer after which use a drill to remove the 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets from its inner edge to disengage the Window Channel retainer from the door. Secure the new Window Channel retainer onto the vehicle door with both 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets and the bolt by tightening the screw to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Installation of the front door window Weather Strip requires ensuring full seating of the strip into the Window Channel retainer followed by a check of the window operation. Reassembly requires installation of the front door frame applique as well as inner window belt sealing strip and outside mirror and water deflector and trim panel.

Changing the rear side door Window Channel retainer requires the sequence of removing the rear door frame applique followed by removing the rear door trim panel and rear door water deflector. Begin by lowering the window entirely before taking out the rear door inner along with outer belt sealing strips and rear door window weather strip. Before removing the Window Channel retainer from the door cut out the 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets on its inside edge and unscrew the bolt from the corner of the retainer. Install the new Window Channel retainer by placing it into the door before applying new 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets alongside a bolt that should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The installation of the rear door window weather strip requires full seating into the Window Channel retainer before moving onto the rear door outer and inner belt sealing strips. Install the front door frame applique followed by inspecting the window operation and finally installing both the rear door water deflector along with the rear door trim panel.

Inspect the window for proper operation, then reinstall the rear door water deflector and finally the rear door trim panel.

Position the window fully down, then take out the window lower run channel bolts and remove the window lower run channel from the door.
