    Q:
How to Replace Automatic Transmission Shift Levers on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for shifting lever replacement requires disabling the sir system. The shift lever seal should slide up the shift lever shaft. Steering column trim covers must be removed if needed. To replace the shift lever first disconnect the base of the column connector and then unscrew the shift lever screw attached to the shift lever assembly. Gently pull out the shift lever along with its seal from the linear shift assembly by sliding the seal towards its thin part on the shift lever. Start by inserting the shift lever seal onto the shift lever assembly before installing the assembly onto linear shift assembly. The shift lever screw requires installation into the shift lever assembly before tightening it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). The shift lever seal should be slid downward along the shift lever assembly until it reaches the position of the steering column trim covers. The next step is to install the steering column trim covers and finally enable sir system after completion.

    Q:
How to Properly Replace Automatic Transmission Shift Levers on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The sir system needs to be disabled before replacing a shift lever. .attach the shift lever seal to the shift lever ascending upward and then take off any steering column trim covers that are present. You need to disconnect the shift lever connector at the base of the column before you can take out the shift lever screw from the shift lever assembly. The linear shift assembly demands that the shift lever seal must slide toward the narrow section of the shift lever when being extracted from the assembly unit. Install the shift lever seal by extending it onto the narrow section of the shift lever assembly before joining the shift lever assembly to the linear shift assembly. Set the shift lever screw into the shift lever assembly before tightening it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Insert the shift lever seal into the shift lever assembly by moving it along the assembly toward the steering column trim covers. The process finishes with enabling the sir system after reinstalling steering column trim covers when required.
