    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Oil Cooler on a Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start your replacement of the auxiliary Engine Oil Cooler by elevating your vehicle then removing the left lower front bumper close out panel. The Engine Oil Cooler hose/pipe requires connection separation from its external device while placing an oil drain pan beneath the vehicle. Follow by taking out the external Engine Oil Cooler by removing its retaining bolts then discard all Engine Oil Cooler hose/pipe seals. New Engine Oil Cooler hose/pipe seals need proper placement before installing the external Engine Oil Cooler. Before moving on install the external Engine Oil Cooler retaining bolts with 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque but check connector engagement by using the quick connect fitting for the on and off sequence. Complete external Oil Cooler installation by connecting engine oil hoses to the external device, removing Oil Pan and putting on left lower front bumper close out panel before filling the engine with oil. Verify for all leaks during this process.

    Q:
How to replace the Auxiliary Engine Oil Cooler on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Beginning auxiliary Engine Oil Cooler replacement requires raising and supporting the entire vehicle. Next, remove the wheelhouse panel. First install an oil drain pan underneath the vehicle and detach the Engine Oil Cooler hose/pipe from its external cooler. The external Engine Oil Cooler needs to be removed after retaining bolt removal and Engine Oil Cooler hose/pipe seals must be discarded. Installation starts by adding new Engine Oil Cooler hose/pipe seals and proceeding with external Engine Oil Cooler assembly. Screw on the retaining bolts while making sure they reach 10 n.m torque (89 lb in). Check the quick connect fitting by pushing it onto the connector before pulling it to verify correct connector operation. After reattaching the Engine Oil Cooler hose/pipes to the external Oil Cooler remove the oil drain pan and reinstall the wheelhouse panel. To finish the procedure top off engine oil before doing a leak inspection.
