    Q:
How to Replace an Auxiliary Heater Core on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Engine coolant drainage is the first procedure when replacing the auxiliary heater core. The next step involves removing both the auxiliary heater pipes' clamps alongside the body side front lower trim panel before disconnecting the pipes from the auxiliary heater module. Use a screwdriver to detach all screws and band clamps along both lef and right parts of the heater core. A cover for the floor should be put in place before removing the auxiliary heater module because coolant may leak onto the carpet. Take the heater core out from its case before you remove the seals that fit on it. Install the new heater core by first placing its seals before reinserting it into the heater core case. Secure the screw and band clamp to the left portion of the heater core until they reach 2 N.m (18 lb in), then proceed with installing and tightening the screws and right-side band clamp to 2 N.m (18 lb in). The auxiliary heater pipes must be reconnected to the auxiliary heater module while installing clamps. Before finishing the job the technician must replace the body side front lower trim panel and perform an engine coolant system refilling.
