Heater Core

You must start by disconnecting the negative cable on the battery along with draining the cooling system before Heater Core replacement. Use the following procedure to remove heater hose quick disconnects from Heater Core pipes: raise the air inlet screen on the passenger side, open the access door near the pollen filter then squeeze tabs holding the locking collar to carefully pull back the tabs whereas you will discard green assembly markers if present. The i/p carrier requires tilting back while steaming the steering column to access Heater Core removal within the framework of complete removal. Start the procedure by taking screws off the Blower Motor housing followed by removing the motor attached housing and then move to taking off the Heater Core pipe bracket screw along with the bracket. The installer should first remove the Heater Core pipe retaining bracket screw and then the pipes and after that i/p support brace bolts from i/p and transmission well before taking out the support brace. Secure the Heater Core with its rubber seal and remove it from retention while using absorbent materials to prevent coolant leakage and properly sealing the Heater Core ports. The rubber seal goes into the Heater Core cavity before inserting the Heater Core carefully with tight retention of the retaining screw until it achieves full seating. The i/p support brace should be positioned correctly before installing its bolts that need to be tightened to 22 n.m (16 lb ft). The professional must install Heater Core inlet and outlet pipes with new o-rings that received coolant lubrication before securing the retaining bracket screw at 5 n.m torque. Reinstall the Heater Core pipe bracket by tightening its screw before placing and tightly attaching the Blower Motor housing and its screws to 4 n.m torque (35 lb in). The heater hose quick connects must be mounted to Heater Core pipe connections before disposing of the green assembly marker. Seating should be complete and locking tabs squeezed before inserting the retaining sleeve. The completion requires filling the cooling system followed by battery negative cable connection.

Remove the IP carrier, SIR mounting bracket bolts, and the SIR mounting bracket, followed by the IP support bracket bolts and the IP support bracket.
