    Q:
How to replace the auxiliary heater core on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
The engine coolant drainage operation is the first step before replacing an auxiliary heater core. Remove both body side front lower trim panel and auxiliary heater pipes clamps before disconnecting the pipes from the auxiliary heater module. Both heater core sides need their right and left band clamp and screws successfully removed. The first step before touching the auxiliary heater module is to lay down a protective cover on the floor in order to avoid coolant from staining the carpet. Begin by turning the heater core loose from its holder within the heater core case then detach the seals. Install the replacement heater core by giving priority to placing seals onto it before reinserting the device into the heater core case. The left-side heater core installation begins by tightening the screw and band clamp to a torque value of 2 N.m (18 lb in). This protocol should be followed by right-side heater core assembly that requires similar wrench torque of 2 N.m (18 lb in). Secure the auxiliary heater pipes to the auxiliary heater module before installing clamps on the same pipes while completing the installation by placing back the body side front lower trim panel. The engine coolant reservoir requires a fresh transfer.
