    Q:
How to replace the brake master cylinder on Chevrolet Aveo? Posted by Customer
    A:
To start work on the Brake Master Cylinder replacement you need to detach the electrical connector from its location on the reservoir. When working with abs braking systems disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder while non-abs systems need Brake Line disconnection from proportioning valves. To replace the Brake Master Cylinder on vehicles that use a manual transaxle system you must open the connector clip at its clutch hose connection to the master cylinder. Block brake lines before unscrewing the booster power unit to stop fluid from leaking during the master cylinder removal process. Take out the brake fluid seal from the booster housing before removing the fluid. To install the new master cylinder use fresh nuts and place the new seal at the booster housing before tightening the cylinder nuts to 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). For abs cars join the brake lines to the cylinder body while non-abs cars join them to the proportioning valves and tighten them to 16 nm (12 ft. Lbs.). Use the clutch hose connection for manual transaxle vehicles to reattach the clip while linking the electrical connector to the reservoir. Fill brake fluid into the system, test for leaks while adding and checking fluid again before doing Brake Line maintenance.
