    Q:
How to replace the rear bumper fascia on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for replacing the rear bumper fascia requires the vehicle to be raised and properly supported. The user needs a Fascia Retainer Remover (J 36346) tool to extract the push-pin retainers which attach the rear bumper fascia to the rear wheelhouse extensions. The rear bumper fascia should be detached from its wheelhouse opening through removal of the fastener which holds it in place. Tearing through the rear compartment sill trim requires opening the compartment lid before moving the rear compartment side trim panels to the rear. The fasteners that join the rear bumper fascia to quarter panels should be removed alongside the fasteners connecting this fascia to the rear end panel. Remove the rear bumper fascia together with the energy absorber from your vehicle after performing previous steps. Fasteners should be installed through the rear bumper fascia into its mounting points on the body before tightening to 4 N.m (35 lb in). The installation process requires fasteners to attach the rear bumper fascia onto the quarter panels. Additional tightening measures should be done until fasteners reach 4 N.m (35 lb in) torque. After installing the rear compartment side trim panels you should put on the rear compartment sill trim before closing the rear compartment lid. The installation process ends with pushing the retainers through the rear bumper fascia to its position on the wheelhouse extensions before lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How to properly remove and install the bumper on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step when replacing rear bumper fascia is to lift the vehicle and secure it. You must use the tool known as Fascia Retainer Remover (J 36346) to detach the push pin retainers that fix the rear bumper fascia into place with rear wheelhouse extensions. The second stage of replacement involves removing the fastener which connects the rear bumper fascia to the wheelhouse opening. Start by opening the rear compartment lid before removing the rear compartment sill trim next to popping loose the rear compartment side trim panels. Before proceeding remove all fasteners which attach the rear bumper fascia to the quarter panels alongside the ones that connect the fascia to the rear end panel. Proceed to detach the rear bumper fascia together with the energy absorber from the vehicle. To install place the rear bumper fascia fasteners on the body and then install these fasteners to fix the fascia with the rear end panel while tightening them to 4 N.m (35 lb in). Fasten the rear bumper fascia to both quarter panels through installation of associated fasteners that need to be tightened up to 4 N.m (35 lb in). Put in place first the rear compartment side trim panels and then the rear compartment sill trim before locking the rear compartment lid. The installation ends by fitting push pin retainers to connect the rear bumper fascia with the rear wheelhouse extensions while lowering the car down.

    Q:
How to replace the front bumper fascia on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process for front bumper fascia begins with hood opening and vehicle elevation with proper support. The Fascia Retainer Remover (J 36346) helps users detach the two retaining push pins which maintain the front bumper fascia attachment to front wheelhouse extensions. Use a tool to disconnect the parking lamp electric connectors before beginning to loosen the captive stud combined with nut. Continuously tapping the captive stud and nut allows you to clear the fender keyhole slots while simultaneously freeing up the bolt enough to remove the weld nut on the fenders. The Fascia Retainer Remover (J 36346) should be used to detach five push pin retainers that secure the front bumper fascia to the upper fascia support and two push pin retainers that fasten it to the air deflector. The front bumper fascia with its attached front energy absorber from the front impact bar should be removed before detaching the energy absorber from the fascia. To install the energy absorber you first need to mount it onto the front bumper fascia before starting every fastener manually. Begin by positioning the front bumper fascia along with the front energy absorber correctly onto the front impact bar. Insert fasteners into the keyhole slots located on the front fenders. Then adjust the fasteners starting with the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Secure the front bumper fascia to the upper fascia support through push pin retainers after reattaching parking lamp electrical connectors and finally secure front bumper fascia to front wheelhouse extensions with push pin retainers.
