    How to Service and Repair Front Suspension Coil Springs on Buick Enclave? Posted by Customer

    The first steps to perform on the coil spring in the front suspension is to remove the strut from the vehicle to service and repair it. Take the strut and place it on the spring stick compressor (J 45400) and make sure that the spring is compressed when the strut is able to move. Screw the forcing screw of the spring compressor until the coil spring is compressed. Remove the upper strut mount nut using the help of a 45 torx(R) socket to keep the strut shaft in a secured manner and use of strut rod nut socket (J 42991). Once the strut is taken out from the strut spring compressor (J 45400), loosen the compressor forcing screw so that upper strut mount and coil spring can be removed. In assembly, place the coil spring and the upper strut mount into the strut spring compressor (J 45400) and compress the coil spring once more. Mount the strut onto the coil spring and upper strut mount and install the strut retaining nut loosely, then using a 45 torx(R) socket, use the strut rod nut socket (J 42991) to tighten the upper strut mount nut to 85 n.m (63 lb ft) while holding the strut shaft with a 45 torx(R) socket. Finally, take off the strut from the strut spring compressor (J 45400) and reinstall it to the car.
