    How to check and replace the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose and check valve on Buick Enclave? Posted by Customer

    Before starting the process turn off the ignition and press the Brake Pedal several times until it becomes firm to drain the Brake Booster vacuum demand. Take out the windshield washer solvent heater part and disconnect the power vacuum Brake Booster check valve together with its attached hose from the Brake Booster. Begin by taking off the fuel injector sight shield and unfastening the vacuum hose routing clip off the intake manifold ball stud. Also disconnect the power vacuum Brake Booster hose from its location on the intake manifold vacuum port. Unplug the quick connect attachment from the power Brake Booster auxiliary supply pump and take out the vacuum Brake Booster hose assembly from the vehicle. Drill the vacuum Brake Booster hose and its clamp away from the check valve. Before installation put a small amount of denatured alcohol on the check valve male threads and fix the vacuum booster hose and clamp to this valve. Put the vacuum hose into place on the vehicle while connecting the power hose to the intake manifold vacuum port and adding alcohol if needed. Use the quick connect to connect power Brake Booster auxiliary pump then install the vacuum hose routing clip on the ball stud of the intake manifold and return the fuel injector sight shield to its appropriate place. Join the Brake Booster to the power vacuum check valve system and connect with denatured alcohol if needed. Install the windshield washer solvent heater if the vehicle has this component.

    Following installation steps must be done before replacing the power Brake Booster vacuum check valve and hose. First, switch off the ignition and press the brake pedal multiple times until it returns full force. Take out the windshield washer solvent heater and remove the fuel injector sight shield. Remove the vacuum hose routing clip from the intake manifold ball stud and take off the power vacuum Brake Booster hose from its port in the intake manifold. Disconnect the power Brake Booster vacuum sensor electrical cable before taking off the quick connector to the auxiliary pump. Remove the power Brake Booster hose assembly from the vehicle by disconnecting all elements including the Brake Booster check valve with vacuum sensor and hose from their installed position. Put a touch of denatured alcohol on the parts to ease their installation but do not use soap. Position the power Brake Booster check valve with vacuum sensor assembly over the Brake Booster while you connect both vacuum sensor electrical and hose connections. Plug the power Brake Booster auxiliary pump into the intake manifold vacuum port and turn the power vacuum Brake Booster hose toward the check valve. Connect the vacuum hose routing clip back to the intake manifold and put on the fuel injector site plate next. Install the windshield washer solvent heater only if your car has it.
