Vacuum Hose

Start the vacuum Brake Booster check valve or hose replacement by moving the radiator surge tank aside without unhooking its hoses. Remove the Brake Booster vacuum check valve to disconnect it. To disconnect the vacuum hose you must release the clamp and reposition it through the hose followed by removing the check valve. To replace the vacuum check valve remove the grommet which holds it in place on the Brake Booster. Keep track of the vacuum hose path while removing it. Slide the hose off from the intake manifold connection by unscrewing the vacuum hose clamp to deactivate tension. You can use denatured alcohol moderately to help assemble the vacuum check valve or grommet but avoid using soap. To restore the vacuum hose placement reconnect it as you documented below then connect it to the engine intake manifold connection and lock it using the vacuum hose clamp. When replacing the vacuum check valve you must install a brand new grommet to the Brake Booster housing. Install the check valve to the vacuum hose and tighten its clamp when you find the components separate. Connect the new vacuum check valve into the Brake Booster before attaching it to its final housing and putting the radiator surge tank into place.

Take the radiator surge tank to the side without detaching hoses before starting the power Brake Booster vacuum check valve replacement process. Take off the brake vacuum check valve connection from its attachment to the Brake Booster. When you need to detach the vacuum hose use the clamp release and torque-free positioning before taking out the check valve unit. When you replace the check valve you should take off its grommet from the Brake Booster. Before removing the vacuum hose take note of its path then release the hose clamp to slide it from its connection at the engine intake manifold. Use only denatured alcohol as assembly aid when installing the vacuum check valve and grommet but never use soap. After marker the vacuum hose path reinstall it then line up the hose with the intake manifold connection and tighten the vacuum hose clamp. When replacing the vacuum check valve put in a new grommet at the Brake Booster location. Put the vacuum check valve back onto the vacuum hose and tighten its clamp. Secure both ends of the Brake Booster vacuum check valve with correct positioning.
