To service and repair the Thermostat housing first disconnect the negative cable of battery and drain the engine cooling system. Unscrew the hose clamp to remove the upper radiator at the Thermostat housing cap then remove the two retaining bolts to disengage the water outlet from the housing. Next, remove the Thermostat together with the o-ring Thermostat housing as well as the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Take away the two bolts to remove the Thermostat housing and gasket from the Cylinder Head. For installation connect the Thermostat housing and the new gasket onto the Cylinder Head and attach it with use of 2 bolts and tighten up to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs). Mount the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor , followed by installing the Thermostat and a new gasket on the Thermostat housing. Reconnect the water outlet to the housing and tighten it with two retaining bolts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Attach and clamp the upper Radiator Hose to the Thermostat housing cap.
