The replacement process for hood primary and secondary latch begins with opening the hood while removing the front section of air cleaner assembly. The hood release cable along with the secondary Hood Latch cable need removal from the Hood Latch. Turn off the bolts linking the Hood Latch to its support structure then detach the latch from its position on the support. The Hood Latch needs positioning onto the latch support before securing it through bolts while tightening them to a torque of 80 lb in (9 Nm). Secure the hood release cable together with the secondary latch cable to the latch element. Check hood alignment as you lower it while verifying the proper position before doing any adjustment. Put back the front segment of the air cleaner assembly while finishing up by closing the hood.

Begin the primary and secondary latch replacement process by opening the hood then unscrewing and extracting the section in front of the air cleaner assembly. The first step includes separating the hood release cable from the Hood Latch while also disconnecting the secondary Hood Latch cable. The first step is to detach the Hood Latch from the latch support by removing the attaching bolts . Secure the Hood Latch to the latch support by attaching it with bolts which need tightening to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Attach both hood release cable and secondary latch cable to the latch component. Lower the hood with care to evaluate the latch precision while performing any required realignments. Reinstall the front part of the air cleaner assembly while finishing the hood closure.

Connect the secondary latch cable to the hood latch.

Connect the secondary latch cable to the hood latch.

Position the hood latch onto the latch support and secure it with the bolts, tightening them to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

Remove the bolts attaching the secondary hood latch from the front panel and take out the secondary latch.

Disconnect the secondary hood latch cable from the hood latch.
