    The first step to replace the hood primary latch consists of noting bolt and screw positions on the latch support. The Hood Latch release cable can be detached from the hood primary latch after inserting a screwdriver into the latch clip to lift the cable out. Start by marking where the hood primary latch is located on the upper radiator support. Then disconnect the headlamp housing panel and bracket together with the windshield washer solvent reservoir and primary latch support bolts/screws and latch support. Install the primary latch support at marked positions from removal and then place the support and bolts/screws before finishing tightening them to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). After replacing the windshield washer solvent reservoir the technician should install the headlamp housing panel together with the bracket. The Hood Latch release cable needs installation into the hood primary latch through its opening for attachment with the latch clip. Fasten the primary latch support to its place using the bolts/screws and secure them to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). An inspection of the hood alignment should follow with adjustments when needed. The adjustment of the hood primary latch requires loosening bolts/screws for repositioning the latch at specific heights indicated during the inspection process.
