    Q:
How to replace the front lower door moldings on Buick Terraza? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the lower front door molding, firstly, disconnect the Door Trim Pad Clip Remover ( J 38778) to disengage the push-in retainers found in the middle front and the middle rear area of the lower door mold. Then, you should apply heat to the lower edge of the door molding using a Heat Gun (J 25070) at a distance of 152 mm (6 in) in a circular motion for 30 seconds. Pry off the adhesive tape on the bottom of the door molding using a plastic flat bladed tool then pull off the bottom then pull off the top to free it from the top part. It is necessary to completely remove door molding and, using such tools as oil free naphtha or alcohol, clean the body panel, but the remains of adhesive should be removed and then the body panel is to be dried before getting the new molding. Check to make sure the two retainers in the lower body side molding are attached to the new molding before install and do not touch the exposed adhesive tape or allow it to be dirty. While wearing gloves, heat the door to at least 21°C (70°F) using the Heat Gun (J 25070), and peel off the protecting liner from the back of the new molding. Put the retainer into the front hole, put the rear molding retainer into the second hole, and wet out the molding to get the best adhesion to the door.
