The first task for Secondary Air Injection Pump replacement requires you to lift the vehicle up. Untwist the hose clamp securing the air pump supply hose followed by detaching the Air Hose from the air pump. Repurpose the Horn assembly while marking where the air pump sits inside the bracket and then remove the bracket along with frame nuts that secure the pump. Disconnect the electrical connector of the air pump and proceed to take the air pump assembly out of the vehicle. During disassembly procedures disconnect the assembly bracket wiring harness plug together with the hose clamp and air intake hose from the bracket. You should remove the meter assembly air pump bracket bolts before extracting the air pump from the secondary air pump dampening ring. The initial position of the secondary air pump should be aligned before securing it to the secondary air pump dampening ring while torquing air pump to bracket bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Fasten the air intake hose using hose clamps followed by connecting its wires to the assembly bracket. Reinstall the air pump assembly into the vehicle while tightening the air pump bracket to frame nuts until they reach 12 n.m (106 lb in). Reinstall the Horn assembly together with connecting the electrical connector to the air pump and hose attachment until securing the clamp before letting the vehicle down.

Vehicle elevation is the first step when serving or repairing the air injection pump. Begin by removing the electrical connection of the air pump and hose clamp from the supply hose before disconnection the Air Hose from the pump. Record the air pump bracket location prior to unfastening the nuts followed by removing the air pump assembly from the vehicle. Begin disassembly by unraveling the wiring harness plug from the assembly bracket and removing the clamp and hose from the air intake hose then unfastening the air pump bracket screws to extract the air pump from the secondary air pump dampening ring. Reposition the secondary air pump properly and install it onto the secondary air pump dampening ring before fastening it with air pump bracket screws at 10 n.m torque (89 lb in). Replace the wiring harness plug onto the assembly bracket while attaching hose clamps to the air intake hose. Installation of the air pump assembly requires placing it into the vehicle position while securing it with air pump bracket nuts tightened to 12 n.m (106 lb in). Next, attach the Air Hose to the pump with its clamp and reinsert the electrical connector before lowering the vehicle.
