    Q:
How to replace or repair an emblem/nameplate on Buick Terraza? Posted by Customer
    A:
Use tape to guard your mounting surface before changing an emblem/nameplate. Also place tape alignment marks on the parts for installation. Apply heat from a gun over the entire emblem/nameplate surface in circular patterns for 30 seconds to make removal easier. A plastic flat tool will help you safely separate the emblem/nameplate from its panel tracking. Use 3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk 07501 for metal body panels or a lint-free cloth with VMP naptha or a water-and-isopropyl alcohol mixture for plastic panels. The setting must stay dust-free during installation to reduce adhesion problems. Dust the installation zone with the same cleaning solution on a lint-free cloth before drying. Place tape over the target spot before warming up the mounting area to 80-105°F and the emblem/nameplate surface to 85-90°F. Place the nameplate emblem directly into place through the holes while pushing down firmly to make strong contact between the parts. Take off the protective tape from the chosen area where you will place the nameplate.
