Start the process by elevating and supporting the vehicle followed by removing the wheel assemblies from the tires. Measure the rear spring adjuster bolt gap when changing the transverse spring to later use for vehicle trim height adjustments during setup. Pay attention to avoid scratching the transverse spring as you work. First use the transverse spring compressor model j 33432-a to compress the transverse spring before removing one lower Control Arm then transverse spring bolts along with their retainers and disposing of the old bolts. Handle your transverse spring with care when you remove it from the vehicle along with already removing the compressor when completing a new spring installation. The transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A) should be placed onto the transverse spring before installing the spring assembly onto the crossmember. New transverse spring retainer bolts need installation at crossmember locations before torquing up to 62 nm (46 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the lower Control Arm to the Rear Crossmember and afterward remove the transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A) for tire and wheel assembly installation. Conduct rear trim height adjustment following replacement of the rear spring before having the vehicle undergo rear wheel alignment.

A substitute rear transverse spring installation starts with raising and sustaining the vehicle along with tire and wheel removal. When installing a new transverse spring always measure the rear spring adjuster bolt gap which will serve as height reference for vehicle trims. Pay attention to avoid scratching the transverse spring when performing this procedure. Use the transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A) to compress the transverse spring before removing one of the lower control arms and the transverse spring bolts and retainers and discard the old bolts. To replace the transverse spring the vehicle needs this step followed by removing the compressor if you are changing out the spring itself. Position the transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A) on the transverse spring before fitting it onto the crossmember. You must maintain the compressor in place before installing the shock absorber because removing it early might lead to pad misalignment on the bolt which could result in damage or rattling sounds. Add fresh crossmember bolts with transverse spring retainers before installing these components and twisting each bolt to 62 nm (46 ft. Lbs.). Remove the transverse spring compressor tool (J 33432-A) so you can install the tire and wheel assemblies back onto the vehicle. When replacing a rear spring perform a rear wheel alignment afterward you must adjust rear trim height.

First, raise and support the vehicle.

Reinstall the lower control arm to the rear crossmember, then remove the J 33432-A (Transverse Spring Compressor).

Remove the transverse spring from the vehicle and the compressor if the spring is being replaced.

Ensure to use new transverse spring retainer-to-crossmember bolts.
