    Q:
How to replace the Power Steering Reservoir on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
An operations team member should start replacement of the power steering reservoir by securing the hydraulic pump onto a stable, flat surface with its shaft pointed upward. A screwdriver should be used to extend the retaining clip tab while pushing the reservoir clip away from the hydraulic pump assembly. Follow the same procedure again for reservoir clip number two and then take out the reservoir from the hydraulic pump housing. The reservoir O-ring seal located at the neck needs to be removed before disposing of it. Before installing the new O-ring seal on the reservoir neck apply power steering fluid as lubricant then place the seal onto the reservoir neck. Attach the reservoir to the hydraulic pump assembly with proper engagement of the reservoir neck. Fitting the reservoir into position should align its feet with the hydraulic pump housing. Pay attention to install the new retaining clips which came with the pump while validating that both retaining clip tabs fit snugly into the hydraulic pump housing.
