The first step to replace the fuel level sensor requires the removal of the fuel tank module. The next step requires depressing the tab on the fuel level sensor electrical connector to release its retainer while you disconnect the connector. Disconnect the fuel level sensor wiring from its position beneath the module clip. After engagement of the sensor tabs a user can dislodge the clips from the module bucket by sliding the fuel level sensor upwards. When installing the sensor place it into the module bucket then insert it downward until the fuel level sensor tabs click into position at the bucket. Safely route the fuel level sensor wiring underneath the module clip before connecting its electrical connector to the module cover for the fuel tank module installation.

The first step to replace the fuel level sensor requires uninstalling the fuel tank module. When replacing the fuel level sensor users should disconnect its electrical connector by depressing the connector tab which permits the retainer to let go. You should detach all wiring that connects to the fuel level sensor from the position underneath the module's clip. Push the fuel level sensor tabs to detach the sensor clips that are attached to the module bucket. Then ease the fuel level sensor out of the bucket. To install the fuel level sensor position it in the proper spot on the module bucket before guiding it downward to allow the fuel level sensor tabs to connect with the module bucket. The installation process requires you to place the fuel level sensor wires under the module clip before attaching the fuel level sensor electrical connector to the module cover prior to reinstalling the fuel tank module.

The replacement process for the Fuel Tank module requires users to begin by safe working practices that include applying a shop cloth over fuel line fittings then preparing a suitable fuel collection container. Before fuel pipe and hose disassembly always perform a cleaning operation to avoid contamination. The replacement should begin with acquiring a new Fuel Tank module seal. You must disconnect the quick-connect fittings of the fuel pump fuel feed line and the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent front pipe from the Fuel Tank module after extracting the Fuel Tank. Next disconnect all electrical connectors which belong to the Fuel Level Sensor wiring harness. Achieve this by repositioning the fuel lines aside. The j 45722 should be used to extract the Fuel Tank module lock ring without causing any damage to it. Begin by turning the lock ring to its counterclockwise position to release it before slowly lifting the module which should be done with care to prevent bending the Fuel Level Sensor float arm. Place the fuel from the module reservoir bucket into an approved waste container before taking out the old Fuel Tank module seal. You should perform Fuel Level Sensor removal when it is required. Assess the lock ring for any damage or measure its warpage; replace the ring if the warpage exceeds 0.41 mm (0.016 in). To perform installation only install a Fuel Level Sensor first and then apply a new Fuel Tank module seal over the Fuel Tank. Install the module by clearing the tank opening through tilting and subsequently apply the Fuel Tank module lock ring. Locate the lock ring using the j 45722 then apply it for ring retention before you reconnect the Fuel Level Sensor wiring harness electrical connectors. Return the fuel lines to their correct positions and join the front pipe quick connect fitting of the canister vent to the Fuel Tank module and the fuel pump fuel feed line quick connect fitting. Finally, reinstall the Fuel Tank.
