Distance Sensor

The start to replace the rear object sensor requires unmounting the rear bumper fascia first. Lift the locking tabs from the housing while doing the removal of the rear object sensor. You need to squeeze the spring while unfastening it from the housing to reveal the pegs from the housing about the removal. Remove the rear object sensor bezel first from the rear fascia surface. When installing the rear object sensor you need to paint it but avoid repainting sensors which already underwent previous paint jobs. Check paint thickness on the non-ferrous metal pieces with an appropriate thickness gage to verify it remains under 6 mm. After aligning the keyhole with the key, push the rear object sensor bezel to achieve a perfectly flat position on the fascia. Install the housing to the bezel cutouts from the fascia rear side and position the spring keys on top and bottom portions of the housing before attachment. To complete installation you should put the decoupling ring on the sensor while positioning the sensor in the housing where the connector should point towards the passenger side of the fascia and press the sensor tabs into the housing cutouts. After the completion of the replacement connect the electrical component while reinstalling the rear bumper fascia.

Insert the sensor into the housing with the connector facing the passenger side of the fascia, pressing the sensor tabs into the cutouts on the housing.
