    Q:
How to replace the Parking Brake Shoe on Buick Enclave? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin shoe replacement by raising and supporting a vehicle before taking off the tire and wheel assembly. The next procedure requires removing the rear brake rotor. After retracting the park Brake Shoe adjuster you can remove all components starting with the upper park Brake Shoe retainer spring followed by the park Brake Shoe adjuster and ending with the rear park Brake Shoe hold down spring by compressing yet rotating 1/4 turn. Compress and rotate to free the lower park Brake Shoe retainer spring followed by the rear park Brake Shoe . The following step includes front park Brake Shoe hold down spring removal and finally the front park Brake Shoe can be taken out. Use either denatured alcohol or equivalent solution to clean the Brake Backing Plate that requires subsequent air drying. Before installing the front park Brake Shoe apply high temperature brake lubricant to its contact areas of the Brake Backing Plate followed by correctly positioning the front shoe inside the park brake actuator. Ready the front park Brake Shoe hold down spring for installation through a compression and rotation process with 1/4 turn before adding the rear park Brake Shoe and lower park Brake Shoe retainer spring properly into the actuator. In order to install the components begin with the rear park Brake Shoe hold down spring which requires compression and rotation by 1/4 turn followed by the park Brake Shoe adjuster and ending with the upper park Brake Shoe retainer spring . Proceed with park brake adjustment.

    Q:
How to replace the Parking Brake Shoe on Chevrolet Traverse? Posted by Customer
    A:
Vehicle support and tire removal begins by raising the vehicle. The rear brake rotor needs removal before proceeding to retract the park Brake Shoe adjuster to make replacement easier. You should first remove the upper park Brake Shoe retainer spring and then proceed to take off the park Brake Shoe adjuster. A compression and turning motion of the rear park Brake Shoe hold down spring allows removal of both components. The lower park Brake Shoe retainer spring also needs to come out before the rear park Brake Shoe . The process to remove the front park Brake Shoe hold down spring requires spring compression and rotation after which both the spring and the shoe can be taken off separately. The rear Brake Backing Plate requires cleaning treatment with denatured alcohol or an equivalent solvent after which it should be allowed to dry. Use high temperature brake lubricant to coat the Brake Backing Plate contact areas of the park brake shoes followed by front park Brake Shoe installation into the park brake actuator. Start by installing the front park Brake Shoe hold down spring through a compressing and rotating process followed by the rear park Brake Shoe installation and lower park Brake Shoe retainer spring installation at the right position in the park brake actuator. Install the rear park Brake Shoe hold down spring by compressing and rotating it, proceed with installing the park Brake Shoe adjuster followed by the upper park Brake Shoe retainer spring. Finally, adjust the park brake.

    Q:
How to Properly Service and Replace a Parking Brake Shoe on Chevrolet Traverse? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the shoe replacement by raising the vehicle while supporting it and removing the tire and wheel assembly. Users must remove the rear brake rotor as their next step. The adjuster for the park Brake Shoe needs to be retracted before removing upper park Brake Shoe retainer spring and finally the park Brake Shoe adjuster. Apply 1/4 clockwise pressure to remove the rear park Brake Shoe hold down spring while rotating it. After that both the lower park Brake Shoe retainer spring and the rear park Brake Shoe become removable. The front park Brake Shoe hold down spring requires the same compression and rotation method before front park Brake Shoe removal. Denatured alcohol or equivalent solution should clean the rear Brake Backing Plate before it dries. Use high temperature brake lubricant to coat the Brake Backing Plate contact points of the park brake shoes before installing the front park Brake Shoe with correct placement in the park brake actuator. The sequence for installation includes compressing and rotating the front park Brake Shoe hold down spring one-quarter turn before adding rear park Brake Shoe and then the lower park Brake Shoe retainer spring into the park brake actuator. You need to compress and rotate the rear park Brake Shoe hold down spring 1/4 turn before installing the park Brake Shoe adjuster and the upper park Brake Shoe retainer spring . Finally, adjust the park brake.

    Q:
How to replace the Parking Brake Shoe on GMC Acadia? Posted by Customer
    A:
The sequence for Parking Brake Shoe replacement starts with suspension of the vehicle followed by wheel assembly and rotor removal. First retract the shoe adjuster to achieve removal access before taking out the upper retainer spring together with the shoe adjuster. To remove the rear park Brake Shoe hold down spring and lower park Brake Shoe retainer spring first compress the component by 1/4 turn with a twisting motion. To take out the front park Brake Shoe perform the same process by rotating and compressing the front park Brake Shoe hold down spring by 1/4 turn. Dispose all waste substances from the backing plate then sanitize and dry it with denatured alcohol or suitable substitute. Apply high temperature brake lubricant to the Brake Backing Plate contact areas on park brake shoes before installing the front piece properly into the actuator mechanism. Place the front park Brake Shoe hold down spring into position by compressing it 1/4 turn before positioning the rear park Brake Shoe then the lower park Brake Shoe retainer spring inside the park brake actuator. Follow this procedure to install rear park Brake Shoe hold down spring : compress and rotate it by 1/4 turn before putting on the park Brake Shoe adjuster and the upper park Brake Shoe retainer spring . Finally, adjust the park brake.
