    Q:
How to replace the steering wheel on Chevrolet Venture? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step in Steering Wheel replacement requires users to switch off the ignition and deactivate the sir system. Clean up the inflator module then mark an alignment mark using a pencil on the hub of the Steering Wheel when nofactory alignment marks exist on the wheel hub. You should loosen the Steering Wheel nut to its end position where it meets the steering column shaft. Vehicle-specific tools are required for wheel removal: pontiac owners should use j1859-a puller with j42578 legs but chevrolet and oldsmobile drivers only need the j1859-a puller. Unplug the electrical connector for wheel controls and disconnect the horn switch lead from steering hub before removing the Steering Wheel nut and Steering Wheel from Steering Shaft. If installed on your vehicle you should first remove the controls then disconnect the controls harness from the Steering Wheel. When installing the controls alongside their harness to a Steering Wheel follow these steps: guide the sir connector through the wheel then make sure the Steering Wheel marks line up before you place the Steering Wheel on its shaft. Start with a Steering Wheel nut that functions as a prevailing torque type with reusable capabilities then tighten it to 45 nm torque (33 ft. Lbs. Torque). After connecting the horn switch lead to the steering hub and reattaching the Steering Wheel controls electrical connector you must install the inflator module and activate the sir system before testing both the horn and Steering Wheel controls.
