Fuel Strainer

Start the Fuel Pump Strainer service and repair with the necessary equipment consisting of the fuel pressure gauge (J 34730). Proper air circulation must be maintained during fuel work to protect workers from possible harm while safety goggles should shield your eyes from fuel droplets that can occur. When working with the fuel sender assembly avoid handling by fuel pipes to protect the joints from damage while also cleaning all fuel pipe connections and hose connections together with the surrounding contacts before disassembly to prevent contamination risks. You should reduce fuel system pressure then empty the Fuel Tank until it reaches 3/4 of the total capacity. Save the proper orientation of the Fuel Pump Strainer and then remove the fuel sender assembly. Use your opposite hand to pull off the external Fuel Pump Strainer from the reservoir while sustaining the reservoir with your other hand. Verify the strainer for contaminants at this time if any are detected discard the strainer. You should separate the electrical connectors from the fuel pump sensor assembly and cover assembly along with the Fuel Level Sensor assembly. Place a new Fuel Pump Strainer on the modular fuel sender with proper seating before reassembling the Fuel Level Sensor assembly as well as electrical connectors. After assembling the fuel sender connect fuel into the system then tightly secure the Fuel Tank filler pipe cap. Review fuel system leaks while turning on and off the ignition according to the specifications by restoring the negative Battery Cable. Proceed with the installation of the fuel sender access panel by using a torque of 2 n.m (18 lb in) on its bolts. After that route the rear compartment trim panel. Then add the spare tire, jack, and spare tire cover before finishing with the fuel injector sight shield.
