    Q:
How to replace the upper intermediate steering shaft on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
When replacing the upper intermediate Steering Shaft ensure that both front wheels face forward and that the Steering Column remains locked to avoid misalignment that could injure the sir coil assembly. Disable the sir system. During the Steering Column and upper intermediate shaft removal process mark the precise connection between them in order to reconstruct their proper alignment. First remove the upper intermediate shaft to Steering Column retaining bolt before detaching the upper intermediate shaft from the Steering Column. Install the upper intermediate shaft to the Steering Column based on the learned attachment during disassembly before tightening the bolt to 48 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Reinstallation of the Steering Column happens with both components intact and requires the sir system activation.
